Rules

Matches will be played for 10 minute durations. Games will commence and finish on the sound of a horn or whistle - teams should not commence until instructed to do so. Coaches and players should move swiftly between parks to ensure no game time is lost. Children should have an opportunity to play 4 x 10 min games, where the volume of teams allow.

Matches will include 4 players in each team on the field of play (subs as required) - there will be no goalkeeper and handling of the ball should be discouraged in a developmental manner by the coaches involved. Players can be substituted as many times during a game as necessary. All children involved should be able to participate in the same percentage of the game as each other.

The ball size shall be a size three.

Players should retrieve back to the half way line while the attacking team plays the ball from their own goal-line. Coaches should assist players to carry out this task in a sporting manner.  Play should commence by the player kicking the ball back into play. This should occur following each goal - no need to start the game on each occasion from the centre. The start of the game should start by taking centre by the home team (first team on the fixture).

There will be a corner awarded for balls being kicked out by the defending team.

If a ball goes out of play at the side of the park a kick-in is awarded. Players should be encouraged to kick the ball to one of their team mates - no goal will be awarded from a kick-in position. Descretion and sportmanship should be encouraged at all times.

Coaches should not be on the field of play - encouragement should be maintained at the touchline only. There is no referee involved. Where there is any disputes, these should be resolved between the coaches involved in the game. Where a child is playing in an aggressive manner, then the expectation would be that some time-out would be used as a cooling down period - again coaches descretion should be used, however sportsmanship should determine the desired consequence.

Coaches are responsible for their own conduct on the touchline. Coaches should be recognisable at the side of the park - with club colours being noticable. Coaches are responsible for ensuring all parents and spectators following thier team are aware of their responsiblities - for information, please refer to the Leagues parents Charter and Coaches Charter.

All involved should, at all times; remember that the game is non-competitive, developmental and most of all fun for the children. Encouragement should therefore be shown to all children involved, regardless of the team that they play for!!
